PALAWAN beauty Janicel Jaramilla Lubina, 19, will leave on March 27 for Egypt to represent the Philippines at the 21st Top Model of the World International Competition set for April 11 in El Gouna, Red Sea.
Janicel is the reigning Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines 2013. A part-time model, 5-foot-8 Janicel was born in Narra, Palawan on April 1, 1994. She rose from her humble beginnings to become an icon of beauty and wellness, and eventually a sought-after ramp and commercial model. She earned the right of representing the Philippines in the Top Model of the World 2014 competition by bagging the Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines 2013 title.
Slimmers World International, Miss Bikini Philippines 2013, in partnership with Top Model of the World Philippines, Inc. headed by Ms. Caroline de Venecia, has high hopes for Ms. Lubina, Janicel’s imposing height, impeccable catwalk skills, svelte figure (34-22-34), charming personality and unique fashion sense all make her the perfect candidate for Top Model of the World 2014.
“I am very excited for my trip to Egypt because this is an opportunity to carry the name of the Philippines in an international beauty competition,” Janicel enthused. “Besides, I am turning 20 on April 1st and I will be celebrating my birthday for the first time in a foreign country!” the dusky charmer said.
Janicel will aim to equal the feat of Michelle de Leon who won the Top Model of the World title for the Philippines in 2007. Past Filipina delegates to the international modeling tilt were: Lorena Pangan (3rd runner-up, 1995), Cherry Ann Chavez (semi-finalist, 1997), Elizabeth Sison (1998), Justine Gabionza (4th runner-up, 2002), Michelle de Leon (winner, 2007), Rosita Defino (Miss Congeniality, 2008), Christi Lynn McGarry (semi-finalist, 2010), Madison Elliot (2011), Christina Davis (2012) and Shermaine de Ramos (2013)
